See, Explore, and Learn - This is Why I Travel
Hey there I'm Matthew in RL but my avatar in SL is Midnight Shirabyoshi. When approached with the question about why I like to travel one thing came to mind. I’ve been moving about since I was little, my family being in the Navy allowed us to see Scotland for about two years. From what I remember it was a wonderful place but not enough time spent there. Afterwards I moved to Las Vegas then to Westerly and Providence. Travel I suppose is just something natural to me and the experiences of seeing new places, cultures, and ideas appeals to me greatly. So why not travel? There’s so much to see and learn out there so I might as well see what I can and learn more about the world around me.
Shown here is a Modification I did of an Avatar created by ZetaR02 who can be found on DeviantArt.com. I salute her hard work and thank her for the opportunity to let me play with the design.

New Scenery, New Cultures, New Experiences

Hi! My name is Bjorn and my SL avatar is Bjornson Donaldo. I love to travel for the incredible landscapes and the different people you meet. Seeing wildlife and natural scenery that is specific to the region you are traveling in is an extremely unique experience. I recommend waking up early one morning to catch the sunrise in a new place because it is amazing to see how the sun changes in other parts of the world.
After paying attention to the natural wonders and snapping a million photos, it is my goal to observe and understand the people. Although it is difficult at first to get past the language barriers in places that do not speak English, you can learn so much. Seeing the way other cultures interact and care for each other is truly an excellent sight. I believe that all people should be able to have the opportunity to travel the world at some point; it really changes your personal values and the way you treat other people that surround you. The next stop on my future travel agenda is Machu Picchu in Peru, South America.

Virtual Travel vs. Real Life Travel

Hi there! My name is Cynthia and I work for ElectricArtists and my avatar name is Cider Starbrook. I love to travel in real life. There are so many interesting places to explore and learn about all over the world. The experiences can last a lifetime; however, RL travel takes a ton of research, money, and scheduling to make your trips happen.
In Second Life, it is so much simpler! You search for a place and click on the name. In a few seconds you are asked if you want to teleport there and BOOM - you have arrived to a destination of your choice. Second Life is amazing! You can discover new and entertaining locations anywhere at anytime while meeting interesting people from all over the world - all in the comfort of your home. This is why I like to virtual travel in Second Life.
